Neilsen Park Rocks Oil 500x600mm
The pathway into Neilsen Park leads you down past a rocky outcrop with an entanglement of roots, trees and vines. My mother and her fellow artists have sat here for hours and hours over the many years studying this little slice of the Sydney bush. I am no where near as patient. I try and just distill the colour, form and randomness of location an ‘impression’ as they say. In a sense nature is the result of competing forces that sit in a sought of perilous harmony - as does great paintings. This is the aim.
