Behind Vaucluse House is a little French provincial cottage with its own veggie path garden. This painting stated life as a rendering of this scene. It then took on an abstract life of its own that I didn’t question. This a very innocent, calming picture that can be interpreted in any way. Its genesis though is a simple house in the garden.
